Meaning: This is the second greatest commandment. When God speaks of loving one’s self, He is not speaking of selfish self-love. When He created soul- mates, a soul-mate is one’s self (flesh of my flesh, bone of my bones). Love is outward not inward. Thus by loving and being loved by one’s self, the soul- mate (who is outside of you), we can also love others in the same way.
